We at ChopChat want to wish every one of you a happy holiday season (and a Merry Christmas for those individuals who celebrate it). Thank you for all of the love and support as we continue to provide coverage about Florida State athletics.

As we navigate through through the holidays, it is always important to highlight aspects of our lives that we are proud of. While FSU football exceeded expectations during the 2023 season, they were not properly compensated for their accomplishments as they were snubbed an opportunity to compete for a national championship by the College Football Playoff committee.

On Monday morning, Florida State football's social team made notice of everything that the Seminoles' squad had done.

Through all of these accomplishments, Florida State football has something to be proud of. As we approach the Orange Bowl matchup versus the Georgia Bulldogs, it is disheartening that fans will not see the same version of the Seminoles as when they faced off against the Louisville Cardinals in the ACC Championship.

However, it is difficult to blame the players for wanting to transfer out of the program or opt out of the Orange Bowl and declare for the 2024 NFL Draft. The team did everything that they had to in terms of being undefeated and winning their conference championship, but it was not good enough.

While I realize that players such as Trey Benson, Johnny Wilson, Keon Coleman, Jaheim Bell, Jared Verse, Fabien Lovett Sr., among others, will not be playing in this bowl game, this Seminoles' football team deserves their flowers.

I would like to extend a huge thank you to these players for giving their all to this wonderful university as well as the coaching staff are continuing to push them every day to be their very best. While I know it was not the most favorable outcome, the Florida State Seminoles are still unconquered. This 2023 football team will always be remembered.
