FSU football: ESPN analyst Booger McFarland continues to fight for the Noles
FSU football fans are still upset with how everything transpired with the College Football Playoff committee's decision to not include the undefeated Power Five conference champion Florida State Seminoles and instead include a one-loss Alabama Crimson Tide.
There has been a large portion of the fan base that has showcased its anger toward the College Football Playoff committee as well as various employees of ESPN such as Kirk Herbstreit. These "analysts" have been consistently bringing down the Seminoles' resume even before quarterback Jordan Travis was injured.
However, there has been one ESPN employee that has always stood up for Florida State with their College Football Playoff snub, Booger McFarland.
Even though McFarland played collegiate football with the LSU Tigers, he has consistently been a voice of reason for the Florida State Seminoles. While I do not want to discount Michigan and their national championship, the fact remains that the Seminoles should have had their opportunity to play them in the semifinal matchup.
I understand that there are college football media members who just want Seminole coaches, players, and fans to stay quiet after their snubbing. However, it is more than just staying quiet and comforting to what the College Football Playoff committee has done.
Florida State has gone out there and set an example for fighting for what is right. While I know many individuals will point to the blowout Orange Bowl loss to Georgia and suggest that the Seminoles should not belong in the College Football Playoff because of the result, they do not understand that Florida State was missing a ton of pivotal players on their roster because they felt that their entire season was meaningless.
We at ChopChat commend Booger McFarland for continuing to showcase his unwavering love and support of Florida State even when his colleagues are the exact opposite.
