FSU football coaches maximize development with prep and transfer portal players
By Kelvin Hunt
Final Thoughts
FSU football coaches have added 14 players from the transfer portal who've enrolled this spring. It's another solid mixture of proven players coupled with talented players that need continued development. DJ Uiagalelei, Sione Loloei, Richie Leonard IV, Grady Kelly, Roydell Williams, Jaylin Lucas, and Terrance Ferguson have experience, but can likely find a higher level with some development from this coaching staff. One of my favorite rappers said, "a role player can become a star in the right system." Players like Earl Little Jr, Malik Benson, Shawn Murphy, Jalen Brown, Tomiwa Durojaiya, and Marvin Jones Jr. have incredible upside like Johnny Wilson. However, it'll be up to the coaches (and the players putting in the work) to maxmize their abilities at FSU.
The good news is the coaching staff has years of continuity, which makes it easier to plug and play new guys each year. They know what Mike Norvell wants and what works best in their offensive and defensive schemes. This combination of prep players and transfer portal players is the most talented group Mike Norvell has brought to FSU. I can't wait to see what the results are in the 2024 season.
