WEAKNESSES

There's a lot to like about Cam Ward's game. However, it's rumored it does come with a hefty price tag. He gets sacked too often(over 30 times in 2023) and fumbles the ball way too often(10+ times). His rushing numbers are not impressive, considering how much he runs because of the sack yardage that got taken away. He averages 10 carries for 12 yards per game. In the on the next slide, he almost always looks to his left first and makes the throw if someone's open.

However, if that read isn't open, he often looks confused and scrambles into sacks(against a lot of bad PAC-12 defenses). His accuracy decreases under pressure like most quarterbacks. He struggles in short-yardage situations like Jordan Travis the past couple of years, even though he's 225 pounds. Although he threw for big yardage, Washington State's offense only averaged 5.94 ypp, compared to 6.56 ypp for Uiagalelei at Oregon State.
