FSU football has some major holes to fill on its roster through the transfer portal. They addressed one of those holes recently with the addition of Georgia defensive end Marvin Jones Jr. However, the most important position, quarterback, got addressed Monday afternoon when former Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei committed to Mike Norvell. Uiagalelei was one of two quarterback targets who officially visited Tallahassee in early December. It looked like he was trending towards FSU over the past day with recent reports, and it was great to see him make it official because FSU needed some good news after the last month of negativity with the College Football Playoff snub and Orange Bowl.

Some FSU football fans have feelings towards taking Uiagalelei because of his time as a Clemson Tiger. However, he showed excellent progression between his first and second year as a starter. Dabo Swinney fired the offensive coordinator after Uiagalelei transferred to Oregon State after the 2022 season. I have full confidence Mike Norvell and Alex Atkins are far superior than anyone Clemson had at the time. Let's discuss five ways the addition of DJ Uiagalelei boosts the Noles in 2024.
