FSU football has enjoyed the successes of the offseason when it comes to the transfer portal. The Seminoles have focused on players within the Alabama Crimson Tide's roster such as running back Roydell Williams, wide receiver Malik Benson, interior offensive lineman Terrence Ferguson II, and cornerback Earl Little II.

Florida State essentially smells blood in the water with legendary head football coach Nick Saban announcing his retirement. Then Mike Norvell decided to stick in Tallahassee instead of taking the coaching position with the Crimson Tide.

The Seminoles are now turning their attention to getting some of Alabama's top commitments. On Sunday night, Class of 2025 five-star wide receiver target Jaime Ffrench Jr. from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville (FL) announced that he was decommitting from the Crimson Tide.

Ffrench Jr. is the number eleven prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He is also a high school teammate with four-star quarterback commit Tramell Jones Jr.

The talented wideout has consistently showcased mutual interest in the Seminoles where he unofficially visited during the LSU and Miami contests this past year. It also helps that he has a great connection with Jones Jr.

Florida State wide receivers coach Ron Dugans had a ton of success during the 2024 recruiting cycle where he was able to land four-star prospects such as Camdon Frier, BJ Gibson, Elijah Moore, and Lawayne McCoy. Plus, he secured two pass catchers via the transfer portal in Malik Benson (Alabama) and Jalen Brown (LSU).

Ffrench Jr. is someone that the Seminoles were thought to be a leader in the spring of last year. However, he ended up committing to the Crimson Tide on July 22nd.

If the talented five-star prospect were to commit, Florida State would have a great foundation to build upon on offense with five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas and four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr.
