FSU football: 5 offensive players who need more opportunities against Boston College
By Kelvin Hunt
Ja'Khi Douglas
Ja'Khi Douglas is FSU's most proven receiver on offense who's been making plays since 2021 against Notre Dame and Miami. It was no surprise he led the Noles with four receptions for 55 yards, with half of his production coming on FSU's final offensive possession. Douglas had an earlier target that went off his fingertips, and that could have been a major play in the game. It's debatable if he should have caught the ball, but it could have been thrown better by DJ Uiagalelei.
I'm probably not a big fan of having Douglas and Lucas on the field simultaneously since they are similar players of smaller stature, but Douglas has proven he can contribute, especially as a No. 2 or 3 option. I think a combination of Benson, Morlock, and Douglas, along with the running backs, can be a good enough receiving threat to give caution to teams selling out against the run.
