FSU football: 5 major takeaways from 2024 Seminole Showcase (spring game)

Running Game Looked Promising
I've thought the FSU running game would be excellent, even though they lost Trey Benson to the NFL Draft. Lawrance Toafili broke off a touchdown run in limited action. Roydell Williams showed some flashes of good vision in traffic and ran hard. Caziah Holmes did have a fumble but had some excellent runs Saturday, including a long touchdown run where he trucked Shyheim Brown at the five-yard line to get into the end zone.
The FSU offensive line opened some nice holes, and FSU running backs were able to get to the edge a few times. That's something the FSU defense will need to address in setting the edge. DJ Uiagalelei kept the ball on some zone reads for positive yards a few times, which was a welcome sight. The latter is going to open up so many things for this offense it ain't funny. It's something opposing defenses didn't have to worry much about, with Jordan Travis refusing to pull the ball on read plays last year.
