FSU Defense Gonna Be Good

FSU football lost a lot of firepower off one of the top defenses from 2023. Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, Fabien Lovett, Akeem Dent, Tatum Bethune, Kalen DeLoach, and Renardo Green will play on Sundays this fall. The FSU defense wasn't at full strength Saturday with guys like Joshua Farmer out for the rest of spring. Despite all of that talent missing, the FSU defense looked like they will continue to be a force to be reckoned with on Saturdays.

The new additions from the transfer portal, like Marvin Jones Jr, Sione Lolohei, Earl Little Jr., Grady Little, and Tomiwa Durojaiye, had their presence felt. Marvin Jones Jr. is HIM! The pass rush was present several times in the game, and Lolohei showed why he's coveted against the run by setting the edge. The FSU secondary was sticky all Saturday, breaking up several pass attempts and forcing quarterbacks to throw into tight windows. The biggest question going into fall camp was the linebacker unit, but they made a few nice plays during the scrimmage. There's still quite a bit to work out, but I like where this defense is considering how much firepower they lost from last year's team.
