FSU football hosted its Seminole Showcase a.k.a. Spring Game, Saturday afternoon inside a partially torn down Doak Campbell Stadium. FSU was down to one scholarship quarterback, with DJ Uiagalelei getting a ton of reps as Brock Glenn and Luke Kromenhoek sat out to deal with injuries. Trevor Jackson, a walk-on former blue-chip quarterback took the other reps in the game to gain some experience. Mike Norvell doesn't treat the entire day like a scrimmage game. Like past years, the Noles started with several drills, including special teams, before moving into the actual scrimmage portion.

Also, unlike other teams, Mike Norvell uses this event as an actual practice instead of trying to create highlights for the fans in attendance and those watching on TV. It takes some getting used to, but it works because we rarely see guys running downfield wide-open for long touchdowns or long runs. However, when the season started, FSU was among the best teams nationally, while other teams who did that barely made a bowl game. It was a good day to see football for the last time until the season opener in Ireland. Here are five major takeaways from the Seminole Showcase.
