Favorable Start

Besides the past two seasons, FSU had not gotten out of September without a loss for many years. The Noles started the 2022 campaign 4-0 before losing three consecutive games and ultimately winning their final six. The Noles went undefeated last season, and the front part of the 2024 schedule looks more than manageable. FSU was a -12.5 betting favorite against Georgia Tech a week or so ago, and will have time to acclimate themselves from their trip to Ireland before taking on Boston College on September 2.

Memphis and Cal are teams FSU should be betting favorites against. That should be a 4-0 start with three home games early in the season. The first four opponents aren't pushovers, but should provide solid barometers for an FSU team with some new faces at key positions. The bye-week after the Boston College game was a must. I know some folks thought the ACC wouldn't give FSU a bye week on that short week, but they almost had to. The first quarter of the schedule sets up nicely.
