Parting Thoughts

I don't believe this 2024 team is far off, they just need better quarterback play to lead this team. A better offense will get better buy-in from the defense. We saw this dynamic at play in 2021 in the latter part of the year when Jordan Travis began to ascend to one of the better quarterbacks in the ACC. I believe DJ Uiagalelei is playing without confidence, but we've seen him play well at other stops. I think he needs to get a win under his belt to find that spark, and others will start to play harder for him.

Defensively, FSU needs guys to communicate better and to play faster with more physicality. They need to stop freelancing and playing hero ball, trust one another, and play together as a unit. It's the same stuff we saw in 2021, and they eventually started to play better. It could all start with a win over Memphis on Saturday afternoon.

Either way, this program isn't anywhere near where it was when Mike Norvell took over, but otherwise, they wouldn't have been No. 10 in the preseason. Mike Norvell still got us, as fans say on social media.
