FSU football: 5 MAJOR reasons Mike Norvell should remain at FSU
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU Is All-In On Football
Amazing things are happening at FSU football to prove the administration is all-in. The move to go to war with the ACC, a stand-alone football facility getting built, and major upgrades at Doak Campbell Stadium are prime examples. Not only that, but Mike Norvell is already among the top 15 highest-paid head coaches in college football at 42 years old. FSU pays their coordinators and assistant coaches well, especially compared to most other programs in the ACC. I'm sure Alabama can throw a ridiculous amount of money at Mike Norvell, but at what point is it worth it?
What happens if he went to Alabama and went 9-3 in year one? Alabama only lost three games ONCE in Nick Saban's tenure(not counting his first season). FSU completed a 13-0 regular season, and the expectation is they could take a slight step back in 2024. The goal is to win every game, but the fan base has an understanding of where Mike Norvell has brought the program from and what's possible. He can stay at FSU, get a raise and continue to be one of the highest-paid coaches in the sport while controlling his destiny and legacy at a program that's also fully committed.
