FSU football: 5 MAJOR keys to victory for Noles against SMU Mustangs

DJ Uiagalelei Will Have To Have His Best Game All Season
DJ Uiagalelei is due for a good game. That's all there is to it. The guy hasn't played well in any game this season. He's missed some wide-open throws, made some bad reads, but his supporting cast has dropped some passes that were on the money too.
We knew DJ Uiagalelei wasn't a Heisman Trophy contender when he enrolled at FSU. However, he hasn't played anywhere close to the sustained level of play we saw while he was at Oregon State and most of his time at Clemson.
We have seen him light it up. He did it against Wake Forest in 2022, and against Notre Dame in 2020. Uiagaleli having a big game is in there. It's all about him finding that confidence, getting in good situations, and his supporting cast making plays when they get the opportunity.
SMU's defense isn't scary. I think the FSU offensive line can provide enough time in the passing game, and may be able to open some rushing lanes on the ground. The opportunities were there against California. It's all about executing in the moment.
