FSU football: 5 MAJOR keys to defeating Boston College Eagles
By Kelvin Hunt
Limit Missed Tackles
Missed tackles were an area that killed FSU against Boston College last year. The clip below is the second play of the game that went for a huge gain for Boston College, and eventually a touchdown on another broken play a couple of plays later. Castellanos is athletic as heck and difficult to bring down in open space. However, these are plays they must make when the opportunities present themselves. The more times FSU can put Boston College in obvious passing situations, the better.
Boston College will play with physicality and they have a running back, Kye Robichaux, who's built like a battering ram. He had 21 carries for 64 yards and a touchdown against the Noles last year. They also have former FSU running back Treshaun Ward, who has great vision and does a good job of getting to the second level against defenses. Boston College almost always has one misdirection play that goes to the tight end, so awareness of that and tackling him for a minimal gain will be a must.
