FSU football: 5 MAJOR keys to defeating Boston College Eagles
By Kelvin Hunt
No Turnovers
The crazy part about last week's game against Georgia Tech is they didn't turn the ball over(except for a turnover on downs) and had fewer than a handful of penalties. The problem was they took too long to score and allowed Georgia Tech to dictate things offensively, which limited their offensive possessions. FSU had full control of the game last year until they recovered an onside kick and scored a touchdown before recovering a fumble and returning it for a touchdown. The onsides kick debacle doesn't go down as a turnover, but it had the same effect. Boston College scored touchdowns off both and gave them all of the momentum.
It's a small sample size, but FSU hasn't shown to be an explosive offensive yet, and the defense hasn't shown they can get off the field when they have to. The Noles will need to maximize every offensive possession against a team looking to run the ball and shorten the game. They need to win the turnover battle or at least don't turn the ball over on offense.
