FSU football: 5 defensive players who should play more against Boston College
By Kelvin Hunt
Justin Cryer-LB
The linebacker position might have been the group with the most glaring issues, though it's hard to say because the defensive tackles were not as dominant as we thought they'd be. However, the linebackers were slow to trigger downhill against the run. They filled the wrong gaps several times and missed too many tackles in space. Georgia Tech only had seven offensive possessions, and the linebackers were responsible for several chunk plays that made up large portions of some of those drives.
One player I want to see more of is Justin Cryer. He didn't play any snaps at linebacker although another player played way more and didn't record a single tackle. I'm not sure why Cryer didn't play but she showed some promise last year and has a full year in the defensive system. He's not afraid to be physical, and that's something FSU will need against Boston College and their run game.
