FSU football: 5 defensive players who shined against California Bears
Big Time Performance!
By Kelvin Hunt
Patrick Payton
Redshirt Junior Patrick Payton has had a quiet first three games this season. However, he made some nice plays against the California Bears on Saturday night.
He finished the game with five tackles and a career-high three sacks. He had a career-high 3.5 tackles for a loss.
Payton seems to be a bit more dialed in over the past few games and is at least playing with some heart and emotion. I could do without the lifting of the jersey implying what I won't say.
However, FSU will need him to continue to make an impact off the edge if they have any hope of slowing teams down enough to give this anemic offense a shot to get it together.
