Edwin Joseph

FSU coaches brought in a talented group of defensive backs in its 2023 recruiting class. One of the highest-ranked guys most casual FSU fans have forgotten about is Edwin Joseph. The talented defensive back appeared in four games last year before suffering an injury and redshirting. The good news was he was getting on the field early in the season. Joseph could play the nickel position if needed, but it looks like he'll be taking his talents outside to the cornerback position.

Fentrell Cypress and AZ Thomas are the most experienced players out wide, but there's little proven depth behind them, which could provide a path for Joseph to emerge with a good spring. However, FSU coaches continue to stockpile excellent prospects at the defensive back position, and a couple enrolled early this spring. The opportunities will be there for Joseph to emerge, but the question will be can he stay healthy enough to take advantage?
