Jackson West

This spring camp is likely life or death for tight end Jackson West, as injuries have plagued his career. He's FSU's most experienced returning tight end aside from Kyle Morlock. He played in nine games in 2021 and redshirted the 2022 season with an injury. He appeared in the final 12 games last season and is known for his physicality and willingness to get dirty in the trenches. The running game is an area that suffered because they lacked blocking at the tight end position.

Other players look to get snaps like Brian Courtney, Jerrale Powers, and freshman Landen Thomas. It usually takes freshmen tight end time to become physical enough to be effective in the running game, which leaves Courtney and Powers as the main competition behind Morlock. Jackson West looked powerful and explosive in the Tour of Duty footage I saw a few weeks ago and got more and more playing time late last year as Jaheim Bell battled injuries. If he's going to make a move, this spring will be the time to do it.
