FSU football entered its fifth spring camp in the Mike Norvell era Tuesday evening. The Noles took to the practice fields as they began preparation for another season. Mike Norvell commented this spring thus far has been one of the best he's been a part of in his coaching career. I remarked how talented and deep this FSU team was months ago when I compared them to the 2022 roster at the same point back then. FSU has more proven experience at several key positions, and more talented underclassmen than back then, despite losing a ton of guys to the NFL Draft.

This spring will be about the position competition, and getting all of the new transfer and freshman early enrollees up to speed with how FSU coaches do things from a schematic standpoint. It's also the point where a few dark horse players will have the opportunity to make a move to prove they may become contributors in some capacity, even though most fans have probably forgotten about them. We've seen it time and time again. Renardo Green was a player in that position in 2022 spring. Byron Turner Jr. was in that position last year. Jarrian Jones and others have been there. Here are my top five dark horse players who could emerge this spring.
