Game Planning/In-Game Adjustments

If we omit the 2023 Orange Bowl, when FSU starters didn't want to play in a meaningless game when they were told the first 13 games were meaningless, FSU has lost three games by a total of 18 points. Costly turnovers or injuries were the biggest culprits in those losses. Even when FSU had much less talent on the overall roster compared to now, they almost always covered the spread or won outright. Mike Norvell and the staff are excellent at game-planning and in-game adjustments. They understand the strengths and weaknesses of each team and play to them to a tee. It's why FSU has been able to overcome huge deficits. The bowl game against Oklahoma in 2022.

They nearly came back to beat Clemson in 2022. They came from behind to beat Louisville in 2022. They covered the spread against Notre Dame in 2020 and took No. 10 Notre Dame to overtime in 2021. They came from behind to beat Clemson and Florida(with a backup QB) on the road in 2023. They beat a top-25 Louisville in the ACC Championship game with a freshman QB in his first career start. A Mike Norvell team rarely beats itself, and that's something Memphis folks told us when he became the head coach. Mike Norvell's teams are almost always prepared when it's game time.
