FSU football: 3 thoughts on the Seminoles' projected depth chart vs Boston College
KEVIN KNOWLES II STARTING AT NICKEL CORNER
Florida State fans have had their frustrations with junior cornerback Kevin Knowles II last season as he converted over to safety. The talented defender struggled to get acclimated to the position after having a sensational campaign at cornerback as a young freshman.
Even with the doubters, Knowles II continued to put his head down and work on his craft. The South Florida native was able to get moved back to cornerback, a position that he feels comfortable with, by the coaching staff.
This offseason brought some adversity his way as the Seminoles brought in Alabama's Earl Little Jr. via the transfer portal. However, even with the noise of that, he was able to string together a really good last week of fall camp and get the -or- designation with Little Jr.
Unfortunately, the Alabama transfer did not have a great performance on Saturday as he slipped down as quarterback Haynes King missed a wide-open receiver by a step that could have allowed Georgia Tech to take a more commanding lead.
I am not saying that the battle is over between Knowles II and Little Jr., but the veteran Seminole earned his opportunity to shine.
