Ole Miss at No. 6?

Ole Miss finished their 2023 season 11-2 and No. 19 overall according to FEI advanced metrics. Their two losses came against Alabama and Georgia, losing both games by 14+ points. They defeated LSU, Arkansas, Auburn, and Texas A&M by a touchdown or less. Three of their wins came against non-Power Five programs. It was their first 11-win season ever, and similar to 2022 FSU, several players are returning to attempt to win a National Title. Ole Miss returns its starting quarterback and some veteran receivers. They also got some help from the transfer portal.

The defensive side was their weakest unit, ranking No. 29 overall according to FEI advanced metrics. I get it. They have some pieces similar to 2023 FSU, but even that FSU team only ranked No. 8 in the 2023 Preseason Poll. FSU returns experience and production at nearly every position and will likely have close to 10 players selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. I don't want to hear about transfers who haven't played yet because some teams getting transfers is the only reason they appeared in the top 25.
