VETERAN PRESENCE

Florida State's coaching staff brought in the former Clemson and Oregon State transfer signal-caller DJ Uiagalelei this offseason. The Seminoles were thinking that Uiagalelei could be the option that could bridge the gap between the younger options.

In times of adversity, the football team needs veterans who can weather the storm. This is why Uiagalelei is here in the first place. He has played college football for five years. That experience is invaluable for a squad that is welcoming in so many newcomers.

Even though it has not gone the way that Seminole fans have wanted, Florida State does not have to self-destruct and win one game this season (Charleston Southern). Will it be harder to go to the conference championship game now? Absolutely.

I am not out here suggesting that the Seminoles will run the table and have a 10-win regular season but I am saying that through the panic, Uiagalelei could be able to come to his senses and be the veteran presence that Florida State needs at this time.
