Physical Traits

Lawayne McCoy ranked as the No. 5 athlete nationally in 2024. He is 6'1" and 176 pounds, though likely added some muscle to his wiery frame. He played at Miami Central High School in South Florida, so the competition faced in high school was excellent, which better prepared him for the college game. However, when you watch McCoy's film, there is a ton of stuff to get excited about. He's smooth, has strong hands, excellent body control, and high-points the ball extremely well. He also has the speed to get vertical(he averaged 25 yards per reception as a sophomore). He also played as a defensive back in high school and is good enough to play that position in college if he wants to do it.

He also seems coachable, which is a must-have if a player wants to get on the field early. He's got all the tools to be successful early, he'll just need the opportunity to present itself.
