Recruiting
Although FSU wasn't prime FSU from 2019-2022, they still recruited much better than TCU. Here are the recruiting rankings for the Horned Frogs:
- 2019: No. 31 high school, No. 24 transfer
- 2020: No. 23 high school, No. 23 transfer
- 2021: No. 44 high school, No. 13 transfer
- 2022: No. 28 high school, No. 13 transfer
Since I'm comparing 2024 FSU against 2023 TCU, I'll go with recruiting rankings starting a year later:
- 2020: No. 21 high school, No. 4 transfer
- 2021: No. 21 high school, No. 3 transfer
- 2022: No. 19 high school, No. 10 transfer
- 2023: No. 16 high school, No. 6 transfer
The average high school class ranking for TCU was 31.5. Their average transfer class was 18.25. The average high school ranking for FSU was 19.25, and the average transfer class was 5.75.
FSU recruited both at a much higher level, especially the transfer portal where they got some true difference makers. There's a reason TCU went 5-7 (2021), 13-2 (2022), and 5-7 (2023).
FSU went 10-3 (2022) and 13-1 in (2023).
