FSU football fans got the news they have patiently been waiting for Friday afternoon. FSU head coach Mike Norvell announced he'll be staying at FSU and shutting down the possibility of taking the vacant head coaching job at Alabama. Nick Sabana announced he is retiring Wednesday afternoon and rumors began to swirl about Mike Norvell and other potential candidates to replace him. FSU fans wanted Mike Norvell to put out a video quickly, similar to Oregon's Dan Lanning, who indicated he planned to stay at Oregon.

However, Norvell never posted on social media, except to acknowledge recruiting commitments, one of which was a former Alabama offensive lineman. I thought that was a solid sign he planned to stay, but these situations can be fluid. Norvell was the betting favorite at one point, but those odds began to slowly decrease.
