FSU football: 3 major questions for the defensive line group going into spring camp

FSU football coaches lost a ton of firepower from what became the best defensive front in the ACC at the end of the regular season in 2023. Jared Verse and Braden Fiske will hear their names called early in the draft next month, and Fabien Lovett will likely find a home on some NFL team. The Noles had incredible depth, which means many familiar faces will return in 2024 at defensive tackle. However, the defensive end position will have a lot of new faces vying to help replace Jared Verse. Joshua Farmer and Darrell Jackson return as the two likely starters at defensive tackle.

Daniel Lyons and KJ Sampson will look to join the rotation, and FSU already added a piece from the portal in Grady Little. Patrick Payton and Byron Turner Jr. return at defensive end, but the coaching staff attacked the portal with reckless abandon, bringing in former five-star legacy Marvin Jones Jr., Sione Lolohea, and Tomiwa Durojaiye. There are other developmental guys at DE: Lamont Green Jr., Jaden Jones, Dante Anderson, and Aaron Hester. Here are three major questions for this DL group.
