FSU football: 3 major questions about running back position heading into 2024 spring camp
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has had one of the better running games in the nation since Mike Norvell arrived in 2020. Norvell's offenses have been productive, despite poor offensive line and quarterback play early in his tenure. However, an improved offensive line and the emergence of Jordan Travis made the FSU offense a pick-your-poison type of offense. However, Jordan Travis is gone, and FSU has lost its two best running backs from the last two seasons(Treshaun Ward and Trey Benson). Lawrance Toafili is the lone returner with real experience in Mike Norvell's offense.
Toafili has been the Swiss Army knife in the backfield, running between the tackles, some wildcat, and an x-factor in the passing game out of the backfield. The Noles will have a new quarterback and likely an improved offensive line with additions from the transfer portal. They added an experienced and versatile running back from the portal in Roydell Williams. They also have Caziah Holmes, Samuel Singleton, and freshman Kameron Davis in the fold. There's a ton of talent, but how will it all work with so many new faces? Here are three major questions facing the position going into fall camp.
