Young Guys Gonna Contribute?

The 2022 FSU offensive line recruiting class was heralded by many as a huge get for Alex Atkins. However, in hindsight, none of those guys have become contributors, with four already off the team and in the transfer portal. The two highest-ranked signees remain on the team, Jaylen Early and Julian Armella, but neither has cracked the rotation for meaningful snaps. It usually takes a year or two for offensive linemen to develop enough in the strength and conditioning program to get strong enough to avoid getting manhandled by opposing defensive linemen.

Frankly, that's how most young offensive linemen who play too early get injured, which stalls their ability to develop. However, Early and Armella have been at FSU for two years and have had enough time to develop and contribute. The staff has purposely tried to bring them along slowly to break the cycle of guys playing too early. These are two names I'll be looking to hear about from coaches as the practices progress.
