FSU football: 3 impact players for the Seminoles' home contest versus Boston College
QB DJ UIAGALELEI
It starts and ends with quarterback transfer DJ Uiagalelei. The veteran signal-caller completed 19 of his 27 passes for 194 yards with zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. Those statistics do not make you feel warm and fuzzy for the starting quarterback.
Norvell placed the blame on himself for not taking deep shots downfield. Uiagalelei's strength as a signal-caller is displaying his strong arm. Fans thought that the offense could generate a good enough rushing attack to set up passes downfield.
After the successful touchdown drive at the beginning of the game, the Seminoles ended up only having 40 rushing yards the rest of the day. Uiagalelei was seeing stacked boxes for the entire game due to the Seminoles' want to establish the run.
I expect Florida State to have more quick passes in stacked boxes to keep the opposing defenses honest. I could see a stat line where Uiagalelei has 220 yards and two touchdowns.
