FSU football: 3 BOLD predictions for Clemson game
By Kelvin Hunt
Cade Klubnik will pass for 325+ yards
Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik has improved through the first four games over the 2023 version. He's making better decisions, completing a higher percentage of his passes, and averaging nearly two more yards per completion. He had good success through the air against an excellent FSU defense in 2023.
He completed 25 of 38 passes for 283 yards and one touchdown. The FSU secondary has been solid against the pass, but the linebackers, particularly on third downs, have been abused by opposing quarterbacks.
The Tigers were 6 of 14 on third down last year, and I'd imagine they'll likely feast in that position this year. Opposing tight ends have had monster games against FSU, and Clemson's second-leading receiver is tight-end Jake Briningstool. He has 14 receptions for 163 yards and three touchdowns.
We could see some younger guys on defense, which lends to higher bust probabilities in the secondary. Dabo Swinney will likely try to pour it on to send a message after losing against FSU at home last year.
