Does this mean FSU shouldn't pursue a quarterback in the transfer portal? Absolutely not. They will and must do so. FSU can't go into the 2024 season with only two scholarship quarterbacks with only two career starts between them. However, taking a transfer quarterback allows Brock Glenn to continue progressing to compete with Luke Kromenhoek for the job in 2025. The latter will likely be a redshirt freshman by then, which gives FSU options for the future.
If Glenn wins the job in 2025, I could see Kromenhoek sticking around to challenge for the job in 2026. If Kromenhoek wins the job as a redshirt freshman, that lets you know he's as special as we think, and FSU will be in good hands regardless.
