FSU football: 16 players who could be selected in 2025 NFL Draft

Fentrell Cypress

Redshirt senior cornerback Fentrell Cypress looks to build on his second season at FSU. Cypress was an All-ACC player at Virginia before transferring to FSU before the 2023 season. FSU plays a different defensive scheme, but Cypress was All-ACC Honorable Mention with 40 tackles, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one recovery. Cypress lists at 6'0" and 188 pounds and is very similar to Renardo Green, who got drafted at the end of the second round Friday night. Cypress isn't a speed demon(neither was Green), but it's adequate in coverage.

It took Cypress some time to adjust to FSU's scheme, but I think a second year for the veteran defensive back will play dividends, not to mention he'll get another year with Patrick Surtain. FSU fans saw a massive difference with the defensive backs under his coaching. Cypress is a solid cover corner but probably needs to grow in run support and sheer physicality with receivers. I'm not sure he'll go super early, but he'll be worth a draft pick by some team that needs help in their secondary.
