Devonte Brown

The FSU secondary was loaded last year, and it might have better overall talent this year than last year. The FSU coaching staff has done a great job stacking talent from the high school ranks at this position. FSU needed help at the safety position from the portal last year, and the loss of multi-year starter Akeem Dent meant the Noles needed to secure some experience to go with talented young players like Conrad Hussey, KJ Kirkland, Ashland Barker, and others.

It's why they added Miami transfer safety Devonte Brown from the portal. Brown was solid at UCF before transferring to Miami to play with his younger brother and not getting developed. Brown has had a good spring, and his experience has been valuable to pair with Shyheim Brown to help bring the young guys along. Brown should add consistency on a down-to-down basis.
