Stopping The Run

I really don’t think this will be a problem for the Noles in 2024. Joshua Farmer and Darrell Jackson will be among the best defensive tackle duos in college football. FSU has better depth at the defensive tackle position than last season. Well, they at least have more capable bodies. However, it'll all come down to what level the backup players bring. If FSU can stop the run with light boxes, it'll open up the entire playbook for Adam Fuller.

FSU has one of the best secondaries in college football, and it'll force opposing offenses to attempt to move the ball through the air with more defenders than if they had to commit extra players in the box to stop the run. This aspect is what made FSU's defense so great last season. They had the depth to keep guys fresh and could stop the traditional run game without having to stack the box with eight men. If they can replicate that in 2024? It will be a long year for most of the offenses FSU faces.
