Analysis: Head football coach Mike Norvell has always emphasized the idea of special teams being a foundation part of a program. That testament remains true as the Seminoles have one of the better special teams units in the country.

Fans were clamoring for kicker Ryan Fitzgerald to be replaced during the 2022 offseason. However, he showcased his talents during the 2023 season where he connected on 19 of his 21 field goal attempts. As for Mastromanno, he averaged 45.4 yards per punt and consistently flipped field position which made it difficult for the opposing team.

As for return specialists, the Seminoles have to replace wide receiver Keon Coleman and his abilities. However, they added speedy Indiana transfer Jaylin Lucas (brother of Ja'Khi Douglas) this offseason who had three kickoff touchdowns during his two seasons with the Hoosiers.

Special teams should still be a strength for the Seminoles in 2024.
