Four-star LB target Gavin Nix unofficially visiting Florida State this weekend
FSU football has a nice foundation within its 2025 recruiting class with five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr., four-star defensive end Javion Hilson, and four-star Ethan Pritchard.
However, the coaching staff would like to acquire even more highly-touted prospects. The future foundation of the program is centered around the process of obtaining capable transfers as well as recruiting prospects.
Florida State has recruits buzzing amongst the recruiting ranks as the Seminoles finished with a 13-1 record in the 2023 season. Head football coach Mike Norvell has his program trending in a very positive direction.
As I alluded to in a previous article about four-star linebacker target Tarvos "TJ" Alford, the linebacker position has always been a topic of discussion throughout the fanbase. This is considered a valid reason since the program has to replace the likes of redshirt seniors Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune.
Luckily enough for Florida State, Class of 2025 four-star linebacker Gavin Nix from IMG Academy in Bradenton (FL) announced that he would be unofficially visiting the Seminoles this weekend.
This is wonderful news for the Florida State Seminoles as they look to add talent to the linebacker position. At this point, the IMG Academy standout does not have any crystal ball predictions in favor of a university. However, he did visit Texas and Miami in recent weeks.
Nix is classified as the 154th-best prospect in the 247Sports recruiting rankings and would be an exceptional grab for the program. He currently has 21 offers at this time.
It seems as though linebackers coach Randy Shannon is continuing to expand the recruiting board with talented options. The thought process is that the Seminoles add two more linebackers to this recruiting class to pair alongside four-star Ethan Pritchard. That would create a sense of depth that Florida State has not seen in quite some time.
