Four highly-touted prospects took unofficial visits to FSU's campus on Thursday
FOUR-STAR S HYLTON STUBBS
I alluded to in a previous article that it is very important that defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. acquires safety prospects to solidify the position room. It was disappointing that the Seminoles lost out on five-star KJ Bolden to Georgia last recruiting cycle.
Florida State also had some bad news this 2025 cycle as four-star safety target Darrell Johnson Jr. from Dodge County High School in Eastman, Georgia committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide. It was disappointing since Johnson Jr. was originally trending to Florida State.
One other prospect that the Seminoles heavily pursued was four-star safety Hylton Stubbs from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Unfortunately, he pledged to the USC Trojans. There was a thought process that four-star Tramell Jones Jr. would help Stubbs get to Tallahassee since he is high school teammates with the talented prospect.
Stubbs was trending to arch-rival Florida, but he then picked to commit to USC. It is a great sign that the four-star continues to visit Tallahassee even with pledged to another program.
