Former FSU QB Jordan Travis visiting the New York Jets this weekend
Florida State football enjoyed its successes in the 2023 season after it accomplished an undefeated regular season and an ACC Championship. Unfortunately, all of the positive developments come to a screeching halt as the College Football Playoff committee excluded the Seminoles for a one-loss Alabama Crimson Tide squad.
The committee stated that their decision was based on the fact that ultra-talented quarterback Jordan Travis suffered a season-ending injury versus the North Alabama Lions, and they felt as though that Florida State team without him could not compete against the likes of Michigan, Washington, or Texas.
Travis meant the world to Seminole fans in terms of his on-the-field production as well as what he did off the field. It was absolutely devastating to see the former Louisville transfer sitting on the field during Senior Night in Doak Campbell Stadium raving in pain.
However, head football coach Mike Norvell always talks about responding to adversity. What will you do when things do not go your way?
Travis had a horrible lower-body injury that ended his senior season. However, he now has his sights set on play professional football. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Travis has a visit with the Jets this weekend.
He also mentioned that he is ahead of schedule with his injury recovery and should be ready to go for training camp. This is massive in terms of seeing the veteran signal caller on the field. We will see how Travis is able to push off of his leg to effectively throw the football downfield.
While I am not suggesting that the superstar collegiate quarterback will be a high NFL draft pick, I do think that NFL teams will be getting a tremendous player with great work ethic and character that can be a positive voice in a locker room.
