Former FSU DE Jared Verse wants to return kicks for the Los Angeles Rams
You read that headline right?! That was not a typo. The Los Angeles Rams selected former Florida State defensive end Jared Verse in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Verse is a foundational building block for the franchise as they also picked up Florida State defensive tackle Braden Fiske in the second round. Seminole fans will have fun watching Los Angeles Rams games this season.
The fan base would have likely wanted to see both of them stay in the state of Florida for the convenience of travel. However, I know that fans are going to have a blast cheering them on.
As we all know, Verse is a very confident person. He referred to the fact that he was the fastest player on the team. I wish he and his teammates had a race to prove that notion, but we will just have to guess. However, I do predict that his former Florida State roommate and current Arizona Cardinals running back Trey Benson would beat him in a race.
Shh... Do not tell Jared Verse that I said that!
Anyways, Verse made headlines again from a comment he made. According to a report from Andrew Siciliano, Rams special teams coordinator Chase Blackburn says that the defensive end wants to return kicks.
Verse would be so intimidating with his size in returning kicks. However, let's be real with the defensive end. Please do not allow him to return kicks (lol)! With that being said, I would not mind him being on special teams as a blocker. I bet he would deliver a crushing block that could result in the Rams scoring on a kickoff return.
I am glad to see that Verse is showing the same confidence that he had with the Seminoles. If the Rams ever read this article, please do not let him throw out the first pitch anywhere. I want to save him from the embarrassment.
