Former FSU DE Jared Verse visiting the Bears and Broncos in the near future
Florida State football enjoyed having its best year since the 2014 campaign where it accomplished an undefeated regular season and an ACC Championship. However, the Seminoles had several meaningful contributors who graduated or elected to declare in the 2024 NFL Draft.
One of those players was ultra-talented pass rusher Jared Verse. Florida State yet again struck gold in the transfer portal with the defensive end position. The Seminoles had the luxury of acquiring Jermaine Johnson II, Keir Thomas, and Jared Verse (hopefully Georgia defensive end transfer Marvin Jones Jr. can be the next great one on the list).
Verse gave his all to Tallahassee where he recorded 89 total tackles (29.5 for loss) and 18 sacks in his two-year playing career with the Seminoles. Fans knew that he was destined for greatness as he consistency put in the work to be successful each and every day.
The talented defender could've easily declared for the 2023 NFL Draft as he was projected by some mock drafts to be a first-round draft pick. However, the former Albany transfer decided to run it back for another season as Florida State had the real opportunity to compete for a national championship (and probably should have if it wasn't for the College Football Playoff committee snubbing them).
Overall, it wasn't easy sledding for Verse early on during the 2023 campaign as he hoped to elevate his draft stock. He was constantly getting double and even triple-teamed at times. However, he did not lose hope and continued to trust his technique where he displayed patience.
He ended up having 41 total tackles (12.5 for loss) and nine sacks to finish out the year. To make matters even better, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that Verse had upcoming visits with the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos.
For reference, the Bears have the No. 1 and No. 9 picks while the Broncos have the No. 12 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
With that being said, where would you like to see defensive end Jared Verse drafted?
