Florida State football final NFL Mock Draft: How many Seminoles will hear their name?
With a stacked quarterback class, that hurt Jordan Travis' chances at being a higher draft pick, coupled with ending his season with a leg injury. While the leg injury is not going to stop him from playing in the NFL, it just possibly takes him out of possibly becoming a starter his first year.
All of that aside, Travis will probably still get drafted, but he will probably get drafted to be a backup and future starter. That is why he is projected to go to the Jets in this mock draft. The Jets have Aaron Rodgers, yes, but they did just lose their backup Zach Wilson to a trade with the Denver Broncos. So they are going to need a quality backup that can also become a potential starter because Rodgers will not be around for forever.
Travis could get a very successful quarterback in the Jets offense with his dual-threat ability and also with how young the Jets offense is. He has a good arm, just needs to refine his abilities, which even if Rodgers won't teach him, he can watch and learn in other ways.
