Five prospects to monitor in the 2025 recruiting cycle for the Seminoles
FOUR-STAR CB GREGORY THOMAS
Florida State is starting to see the benefits of hiring defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. who he acquired four talented pieces in the secondary with four stars Charles Lester III, Jamari Howard, Cai Bates, and Ricky Knight III in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
While Surtain Sr. has not grabbed any players in the defensive backfield for the 2025 cycle, the Seminoles are in contention for several talented prospects. One notable target is four-star Gregory Xavier Thomas from American Heritage High School in Plantation (FL).
For reference, Surtain Sr. used to be the head football coach at American Heritage High School so his connections to the school are relatively deep. The pipeline has already been on display as they added Alabama's Earl Little II and Miami's Davonte Brown who both attended the high school.
As it relates to Thomas, he has already received a crystal ball prediction in favor of Florida State. He has shown mutual interest in the university as he attended their Junior Day event last weekend. The Seminoles have been on the American Heritage standout for a while since offering him on July 29th of last year.
