Five Florida State football players who will battle for jobs in spring practice
CONRAD HUSSEY
Florida State is having to replace senior safety Akeem Dent, who was considered a leader for the Seminoles' defensive unit in 2023. While the veteran suffered a variety of injuries, he was still a viable piece that kept defensive coordinator Adam Fuller's defensive unit communicating at a high level.
Fans understand that Shyheim Brown will man one of the safety spots. However, the Seminoles still need to figure out what to do on the other side. One candidate to monitor is former Class of 2023 four-star prospect Conrad Hussey.
Hussey was a summer enrollee so it just took a little bit for him to get acclimated to the collegiate game. However, once he was able to get his feet wet, the St. Thomas Aquinas High School standout opened the eyes of the coaching staff with his ability to come downfield and deliver a bone-crushing hit.
We will see where Florida State places Alabama defensive back transfer Earl Little Jr. However, Hussey should be able to make his case known as he battles for the starting safety position in the spring.
