Every former FSU football player in the 2024 NFL Playoffs
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has not sent as many players to the NFL in recent years compared to its rich history, but that'll change in a few months when several guys from the 2023 team will hear their names called in the 2024 NFL Draft. However, one great aspect of former Noles in the NFL is their longevity. There are eight former Noles in the NFL that will play in the NFL Playoffs starting Saturday afternoon. Here's some information on those guys.
- Dalvin Cook: 2017 NFL Second-Round selection by the Minnesota Vikings. Cook was an All-Pro with the Vikings and joined the Jets, along with Aaron Rogers, who got hurt and was lost for the season. The Jets never found themselves on offense, and Cook's role never became defined. Cook signed with the Baltimore Ravens after mutually agreeing to part ways with the New York Jets. The Ravens will receive a bye to the AFC Divisional Round as the No. 1 seed.
- Ronald Darby: Dardy was a 2015 NFL Second Round selection by the Buffalo Bills. He won a Superbowl in 2018 when the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots. Dardy appeared in 16 games with 23 tackles and seven passes defended for the Baltimore Ravens this season.
- Dustin Hopkins: Hopkins was a 2013 NFL Sixth Round selection by the Buffalo Bills but got hurt and waived before finally finding a spot in the NFL with the Washington Commanders. He plays for the Cleveland Browns and appeared in 15 games this season. Hopkins made 33 of 36 FG attempts. All three missed were from 40-49 yards, but was 8 of 8 from 50-59 yards. The No. 5 Browns will play at No. 4 Houston on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on NBC.
- Jalen Ramsey: Ramsey was a 2017 NFL first-round selection by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He's been the best or among the best cornerbacks in the league since arriving on the scene. Ramsey won a Superbowl when the Rams defeated the Bengals a couple of years ago. He was traded to the Miami Dolphins before the 2023 season and tore his meniscus before the season. He appeared in seven games and continues to prove he's still one of the top defensive backs. The No. 6 Dolphins will travel to play the No. 3 Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday at 8:15 p.m. ET. The game will air on Peacock.
- Roderick Johnson: Johnson was a 2015 NFL fifth-round selection by the Cleveland Browns. He is on the Philadelphia Eagles roster on the injured reserve.
- Josh Sweat: Sweat was a 2018 NFL fourth-round selection by the Philadelphia Eagles. Sweat, a 2021 NFL Pro Bowl selection has become one of the better defensive ends in the league. He appeared in 16 games and had 38 tackles and 6.5 sacks. The No. 5 Eagles will travel to play the No. 4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday at 8:15 p.m. ET. The game will air on ESPN.
- Kier Thomas: Thomas was a 2022 UDFA who has earned a spot on the Los Angeles Rams. He appeared in eight games this season, with five tackles. The No. 6 Rams will travel to face the No. 3 Detroit Lions on Sunday at 8:15 p.m. ET. The game will air on NBC.
