DraftKings releases early spreads for the Seminoles' 2024 football season
FSU football is looking to turn the chapter when it comes to the successful 2023 campaign that it had, which featured an undefeated regular season and a conference championship. I realize that fans are still extremely frustrated with what happened in December. However, this is a new year.
The program is welcoming several newcomers while also having to replace contributors who were pivotal to their successes. However, head football coach Mike Norvell has his team heading in the right direction as they possess a 23-4 record over the past two seasons.
The over/under win total remains at 9.5. This number suggests that the Seminoles could be a team to monitor in 2024 in hopes of winning the ACC Championship Game once again.
DraftKings Sportsbook released a few spreads for the Seminoles' contests this season.
FSU -13 (vs Georgia Tech)
FSU -23 (vs Boston College)
FSU -4 (vs Clemson)
FSU -1.5 (at Miami)
FSU +3.5 (at Notre Dame)
FSU -12.5 (vs Florida)
ANALYSIS
I am honestly surprised that the Seminoles are favored over the Clemson Tigers and Miami Hurricanes. This will be a prove-it game for former Clemson transfer quarterback DJ Uiagalelei as he squares off against the team that he transferred from. Uiagalelei had a remarkable performance versus the Seminoles in 2022 when he was last in Doak Campbell Stadium.
As for Miami, I understand that their fan base has heightened expectations every single year. However, they might finally have a reason to be excited given that they added a top transfer signal-caller option in Washington State's Cameron Ward. Given the easier schedule for the Hurricanes, they could be a huge contender in the conference. They just have to get their fans to attend the contests.
Overall, I think the spreads are justifiable to suggest that the Seminoles can be a 9 or 10-win football team in 2024.
