Florida State football defeated the California Golden Bears by a score of 14-9 in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday night.

The Seminoles are finally in the win column for the 2024 season after losses to Georgia Tech, Boston College, and Memphis. Florida State is looking to find consistency after accomplishing an undefeated regular season and a conference championship in 2023.

Even with the recent struggles, the fans have continued to showcase support of the program as Doak Campbell Stadium was rocking on Saturday night.

The fact that this crowd forced six false starts and one delay of game penalty was incredible. One thing about it is that the Seminole faithful do care about their football team. While the squad has underperformed this year, it is great to see individuals still coming to the game to support the players and coaching staff.

It is also worth mentioning that Doak Campbell Stadium is currently under renovation, and it will be completed in time for the 2025 season opener versus Alabama. At this time, the stadium holds a capacity of around 55,000. I know that individuals are used to the environment, having around 79,000+ fans in there, but the people that were in the stadium (including myself) didn't disappoint.

I know that it has gone like Florida State fans have wanted it to. It could have been easy to throw in the towel, and some individuals might have already done it. However, this squad needs your support more than never during these challenging times of adversity.

When adversity strikes, we use these opportunities to lift each other and get through the levels of uncomfortableness. Head football coach Mike Norvell is a great motivator when it comes to responding to adversity. The crowd on Saturday helped them navigate through that adversity versus California.

The home crowd will be ready to take on the Clemson Tigers in the next home game (TV channel and time have not been announced).
