Defensive tackle Joshua Farmer has high expectations for the Noles in 2024
Florida State conducted its media sessions at the ACC Kickoff today in Charlotte, North Carolina as the Seminoles are under five weeks away from the season opener versus Georgia Tech in Dublin, Ireland.
Florida State head football coach Mike Norvell brought three players with him to the ACC Kickoff: Defensive tackle Joshua Farmer, defensive end Patrick Payton, and offensive tackle Darius Washington. All of these contributors have been with Florida State from the beginning.
As we noted before, redshirt senior transfer quarterback DJ Uiagalelei opted out of speaking at ACC Kickoff since he wanted to give players an opportunity who played in the ACC Championship Game versus Louisville last year.
The 2023 season ended with a sour taste in many fan's mouths as they were blown out by the Georgia Bulldogs in a meaningless Orange Bowl with numerous opt-outs.
On Monday, Farmer spoke about the College Football Playoff snub and the upcoming 2024 team at ACC Kickoff:
"We are pretty pissed off. Everything happens for a reason. This year, we are trying to get that get back and do what we can and get where we are supposed to be. We are going to make the run and are going to be in that 12-team playoff. That's a no-brainer. We are pissed off. The older guys (me, Pat, Darrell, and Darius), we know what we deserve and we are going to try and get there. "

That is a pretty bold statement by Farmer to suggest that the Seminoles will definitely get into the 12-team College Football Playoff. However, Vegas odds have Florida State as the best chance to win the conference, which would have the Seminoles gain a top-four seed.
The talented defensive tackle had a successful 2023 campaign where he stepped in for an injured Fabien Lovett Sr. With him and Darrell Jackson Jr. being the starting defensive tackle duo, this could be one of the best defensive lines in the conference with guys such as Patrick Payton and Marvin Jones Jr.
This team is hungry for success after what transpired. It seems like head football coach Mike Norvell will have his guys ready for what's to come.
